I’m a mental health provider with compassion and empathy.

Hi, I’m Cynthia Maritato. I’m an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner based out of Pennsylvania. I came into the world of psychiatric care later in life but always had an interest in understanding mental health conditions and holistic healing treatments after my own experiences with ADHD and overcoming trauma.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Penn State University and received my Masters's degree from Vanderbilt University. I’ve treated patients with mental illness in a variety of clinical settings including the juvenile justice system, county jails, outpatient clinics, and community healthcare centers. I started my private practice, The Calming Edge because I wanted to offer my patients a comprehensive way to address their mental health beyond just medication and to build strong therapeutic relationships without being rushed.

My friends describe me as intuitive, warm, and nurturing while also having an iron will, drive and stamina in face of adversity. It’s all about balance!

I believe that in order to overcome your fears you must face them. I’m afraid of heights but went skydiving with my eldest daughter for her 18th birthday. I’m afraid of drowning, but I got my open-water diving certification and did my first dive in Shark’s Cove in Hawaii.

Outside of my practice I love hiking, spending time with my grandchildren, family and friends, working out, and jazz concerts.

I’m a provider that will make you feel seen, heard and respected.

I believe that the patient has a say in their treatment and should be an active participant in their mental wellness journey. I am now accepting new patients via telepsychiatry for those who live in Pennsylvania. Think we would be a good fit? Learn more about my practice and service offerings below.
