Personalized Integrative Psychiatry

My Approach

I have learned that while many patients do respond well to psychotropic medications, not all do. I believe that in order to see real healing, we must treat the whole patient.

I offer comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of mental health conditions, including the use of remote digital attention variability assessments for those seeking ADHD evaluations. I provide customized treatment plans that may include medication management, nutraceuticals, and plant-based options, considerations for therapy, and mind-body medicine treatments.

Together, we will formulate a plan that combines the best of traditional medicine with integrative approaches to get you feeling better and in control of your mental health.

My Integrative Treatment Modalities

Medication Management

Are you tired of getting little relief from your medication regimen? Do you consistently experience unwanted side effects? Do you need a more convenient way to have your psychotropic medications managed? I provide evidence-based and neuroscience-backed medication management with an integrative approach. I want to help you find the best medication regimen that helps you feel better while minimizing unwanted side effects.

*Please note, I do not prescribe hypnotics (prescription sleeping meds). I do not do long-term Benzodizapine therapy or prescribe Benzodiazepines (ie. Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium) as a stand-alone treatment for anxiety.  I stay within FDA-recommended dosing for all stimulants. I do not prescribe any controlled medications to patients on opioid agonist therapy (ie. Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade or Methadone) as I believe these patients are better served by working with an addictions specialist.

Mind-Body Medicine

Mind Body Medicine allows individuals to explore their mind/body connection and its ability to relieve the symptoms of many mental health issues like anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. Mind Body Medicine incorporates different practices such as Breathing techniques, Mindfulness Meditation, Guided Imagery Meditation, Progressive Relaxation, and other mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a holistic, evidenced-based psycho-social intervention that is different from other therapies. CBT is based on several core principles including the principle that an individual’s thoughts, feelings (emotions), and physical sensations or symptoms are linked and affect a person’s behaviors.

I use various forms of CBT including Exposure Response Prevention ( ERP) and Prolonged Exposure ( PE) aimed at helping you understand your experiences of the world, decreasing distressing symptoms, improving distress tolerance, developing coping skills, and changing unhelpful thoughts and learned patterns of behavior so that you can move forward.

Vagal Stimulation

As a certified trauma-informed provider I know that in order to calm the symptoms of anxiety and PTSD caused by an overloaded sympathetic nervous system we must increase vagal tone to engage our “rest and digest” calming Parasympathetic Nervous system or Ventral Vagal state. This can be done by non-invasively stimulating the vagus nerve. To do this,  I train clients to use a variety of proven trauma elimination techniques and often incorporate the use of the evidenced-based Safe and Sound Protocol developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, Ph.D. a known leader in the field of behavioral psychology.

My Services & Fees

Free Phone Consultation | 15 minutes | FREE

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to get a better idea of what you’re going through and determine if I can help. If we think we would be a good fit to work together, we’ll schedule an intake appointment. You can book your free consultation call here.

Comprehensive Intake Appointment | 75 minutes | $450

Our first session is an in-depth appointment where I get to know you better, listen to your story, and discuss your treatment goals.

  • We will review and discuss your comprehensive intake package that includes previous mental health treatments, medical history, trauma history, drug and alcohol history and social history

  • We will discuss past and future diagnosis screenings and review them in more detail

  • We will discuss what your diet, exercise, and sleep patterns look like because no medication regimen will work effectively if your diet, exercise, and sleep patterns are not aligned with attaining positive mental wellness

  • If needed, we will also discuss any additional testing that may be beneficial such as general and functional lab testing, genetic testing, and ADHD evaluations

  • We will formulate a plan for adding medications, making any medication adjustments to your current regimen, and the possible addition of nutraceuticals and dietary supplements, as well as consider your desire to do Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or incorporate mindfulness and meditation into your day

Long Follow-Up Appointment | 50 minutes | $295

Longer appointments are offered after your initial intake to give us ample time to discuss your treatment goals and progress. They are preferred for patients with more complex presentations, who prefer more integrative services, who desire to participate in therapy or other neuromodulation treatments, or who are in need of cannabis consultation in addition to medication management.

Short Follow-Up Appointment | 25 minutes | $185

Shorter appointment times are offered to evaluate the effectiveness of your treatment regimen. They are preferred for clients with less complex presentations, clients who are doing well or may be experiencing mild side effects to their current regimen but in general, need less guidance to manage their symptoms and do not need or desire therapy or other integrative services.

Bariatric Pre-surgical Psychiatric Evaluation | 60 minutes | $375

Bariatric psychiatric evaluations are offered in the comfort and privacy of your own home. The fee includes a written evaluation faxed directly to your surgeon.

If you prefer, I can also provide you with a superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • I believe in the judicious use of controlled medications. I do not prescribe hypnotics (prescription sleeping meds). I do not do long-term Benzodiazepine therapy or prescribe Benzodiazepines eg. (Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, or Valium) as a stand-alone treatment for anxiety. I stay within FDA-recommended dosing for all stimulants.

I do not prescribe any controlled meds to patients on opioid agonist therapy (ie., Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade, or Methadone) as I believe these clients are better served by working with an addictions specialist.

  • Integrative Psychiatry is combining the best of Western Allopathic medicine with complementary treatment approaches in an effective, ethical, responsible, and evidence-informed way with the aim of helping you improve your mental health. By combining the judicious use of medication with holistic strategies, you will feel better sooner.

  • The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based listening therapy designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through filtered music.

As a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, the SSP acts as a non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator, helping to re-tune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration, and resilience.

The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider, in-person or remotely. The SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and more.

  • The purpose of the bariatric pre-surgical psychiatric evaluation is to help ensure the best outcomes for the patient after surgery.

A mental health diagnosis or taking psychotropic medications does not, in itself, disqualify a patient from having bariatric surgery, but it is important for the patient’s mental health to be stable.

The evaluation will assess for any high-risk conditions that may need to be addressed prior to surgery, your motivation behind surgery which in some cases can be considered high risk or disqualifying, and any established disqualifying factors such as multiple suicide attempts, active psychosis, or active addiction.
